2. Take Exit #43.
3. Turn RIGHT on S Mechanic Street.

5. Turn LEFT into the parking lot.

From Rt 68 W:
1. Take Exit #43.
2. Turn LEFT on S Mechanic Street.
3. Turn LEFT on Baltimore Street to the trailhead.

3. Turn RIGHT on Depot Street.

Deal, PA

 

From Somerset and the Pennsylvania Turnpike:
1. Take Somerset Exit #110.
2. Proceed through 3 traffic lights and at the 4th, turn LEFT onto E Main Street.

3. At the next light, bear RIGHT onto Berlin Plank Road (becomes Rt. 219 S).

4. Follow Rt. 219 S about 8 miles to Berlin. At blinking yellow light, turn LEFT. 

Go 0.4 mile through town.  Turn RIGHT onto SR 160 S.

5. Follow SR 160 S about 12 miles to the "twin churches"; turn RIGHT onto

SR 2011/McKenzie Hollow Road.
6. Go 0.8 mile bear RIGHT onto Deal Road; the access area will be on your LEFT approximately 0.5 mile after the turn.

Meyersdale, PA

527 Main Street
Meyersdale, PA 15552

From the PA Turnpike:
1. Take Somerset Exit #110.
2. Proceed through 3 traffic lights and at the 4th, turn LEFT onto E Main Street.
3. At the next light, bear RIGHT onto Berlin Plank Road (becomes Rt 219 S).
4. Go 3 miles then turn RIGHT onto Garrett Shortcut Road.
5. Continue 8 miles to a stop sign and turn LEFT onto Rt 653.
6. Proceed slowly through Garrett and turn RIGHT onto Rt 219 S.
7. Go on Rt 219S about 2 miles, then turn RIGHT onto Business Rt 219.
8. Once in town, turn LEFT onto Main Street by the fire station.
9. Proceed 4 blocks up the hill, and across the tracks you will see the train station on your left.

Garrett, PA

From the PA Turnpike:
1. Take Somerset Exit #110.
2. Proceed through 3 traffic lights and at the 4th, turn LEFT onto East Main Street.
3. At the next light, bear RIGHT onto Berlin Plank Road (becomes Rt 219 S).
4. After leaving town, go 3 miles then turn RIGHT onto Garrett Shortcut Road.
5. Continue 8 miles to a stop sign and turn LEFT onto Rt 653.
6. Proceed slowly watching for small red Allegheny Highlands Trail signs.
7. Turn RIGHT onto Berlin Street and pass under the bridge.
8. Turn RIGHT at your next opportunity, then LEFT at the stop sign.
9. Cross the bridge and turn RIGHT following this road into the parking area.

Rockwood, PA

450 W Main St

From the PA Turnpike:
1. Take the Somerset Exit #110.
2. Take Rt 281 S for 8.8 miles to the stop sign in New Centerville.
3. Go straight, toward Rockwood, on Rt 653 E for 3.5 miles.
4. Proceed straight ahead on Bridge Street over the railroad tracks and the
    Casselman River.
5. Access areas and parking are on both sides just after the bridge.

Confluence, PA

From the PA Turnpike:
1. Take the Donegal Exit #91.
2. Turn left onto Rt 31.
3. After two miles, turn RIGHT onto Rt 711/381 S.
4. Continue 10 miles to Normalville.
5. Turn LEFT to continue on Rt 381 S.
6. Follow Rt 381 S for 11 miles into Ohiopyle.
7. Cross over the river and under the bike bridge.
8. Turn LEFT onto Sugarloaf Road (the road just after Negley) and continue
    8 miles through the park.
9. Turn LEFT onto Rt 281.
11. Trailhead parking will be two miles on your right.

Ohiopyle, PA

103 Garrett St

Ohiopyle, PA 15470

From the PA Turnpike:
1. Take the Donegal Exit #91.
2. After exiting toll booth, turn LEFT onto Rt 31/711 S.
3. After 2 miles, turn RIGHT onto Rt 711/381 S.
4. Go 10 miles to Normalville then turn LEFT to continue on Rt 381 S.
5. Follow Rt 381 S for 11 miles into Ohiopyle.
6. After crossing the over the river and under the bike bridge, turn LEFT
    on Sheridan Street and go up the hill for trailhead parking at the visitors' center.

Connellsville, PA

503 W Crawford Ave

Connellsville, PA 15425

From The PA Turnpike:
1. Take the New Stanton Exit #75.
2. Merge onto Rt 119 S.
3. In Connellsville, turn LEFT at the Rt 201 traffic light onto Crawford Street.
4. Turn LEFT onto Third Street.
5. Please use the larger lot at the end of the street, on the east side of the
    RT 119 bridge.

From Rt 201:
There is a large vacant former railroad yard a few hundred yards before the RT
119 intersection. Look for a blue YRT sign at the bottom of the last hill into
Connellsville. While undeveloped, there is ample parking room. This puts you right onto the YRT north section; or follow the bike lane through Connellsville to the YRT, south section to Ohiopyle and beyond.
1. As you enter the city limits, turn LEFT at the traffic light (Wendy's will be to
    your right as you turn).
2. Continue through the next light, then go five blocks to another traffic light
    at Third Street.
3. Turn LEFT onto Third Street, follow it into Yough Park. (Yough Trail Bike Lane runs alongside Third Street.)

From Rt 119 S to Connellsville:
1. As you enter the city limits, turn right onto Crawford Avenue (Sheetz will be on your left).
2. Go five blocks to the next traffic light and turn LEFT onto Third Street. Third
    Street brings you directly into Yough Park.
3. There is a 50-car parking lot a few blocks off Crawford. Also there is ample
    parking at Connellsville's Riverfront Park. Please use the larger lot on the east side of the Rt 119 bridge.
Smithton, PA From the PA Turnpike:
1. Take the New Stanton Exit #75.
2. Merge onto Rt 70 W.
3. Take the Smithton Exit # 49. Follow the signs toward town. At the T, turn
    RIGHT onto Rt 981.
4. Turn right at first stop sign on Main Street, still following Rt 981.
5. Cross the bridge over the Yough River and immediately turn RIGHT and down
    the hill into the access area.
Cedar Creek, PA From the PA Turnpike:
1. Take the New Stanton Exit #75.
2. Merge onto I-70 W.
3. Travel 11 miles, then exit onto Rt 51 N #46 B.
4. From exit go ΒΌ mile then turn RIGHT at light. Road curves to the left, then right.
5. Follow signs to Cedar Creek Park.
6. At the second entrance, which is the main entrance, turn LEFT and follow the road to the river and access area.

West Newton, PA

1. Take Exit 51B to PA 31 West to West Newton.
2. Main Street is PA 31. Stay on Main Street.
3. Cross the Youghiogheny River.
4. Trailhead parking is on the left. Overflow parking on the right.

Boston, PA

From the PA Turnpike
1. Take the Monroeville/Pittsburgh Exit #57.
2. From the toll booth, turn towards Monroeville and Business Rt 22 W.
3. Immediately get in LEFT lane, then after 1 block, Turn LEFT onto Rt 48.
4. Follow Rt 48 for several miles to Youghiogheny River and cross the Boston Bridge.
5. Turn RIGHT at the end of the bridge and then immediately RIGHT again.
6. Park under or by the bridge.

McKeesport, PA

100 5th Ave

McKeesport, PA 15132

McKeesport can be easily reached from the Homestead, Duquesne, and West Mifflin areas via PA 837.
From the PA Turnpike:
1. Take the Monroeville/Pittsburgh Exit #57.
2. From the toll booth, turn towards Monroeville and Business Rt 22 W.
3. Immediately get in LEFT lane, then after 1 block, Turn LEFT onto Rt 48.
4. Continue on Rt 48 for several miles.
5. Turn RIGHT onto Rt. 148, Walnut Street in McKeesport, watch for blue "Bike Trail" signs for the trailhead parking lots on the "LooP" connecting trail to the GAP, or continue past these first two sets of Bike Trail signs to turn left at the third Bike Trail sign at 9th Street or on to the fourth Bike Trail sign at Lysle Blvd. After either of these last two left turns, continue to follow the blue Bike Trail signs to the McKeesport Trailhead.


Please note: traffic coming from Clairton/Glassport you can watch for a blue Bike Trail sign you cross the bridge over the Youghiogheny River and those coming down Lysle Blvd from Duquesne or Rt 148 also watch for a blue Bike Trail sign. Both signs will lead cars to the McKeesport/McKees Point Trailhead beneath the Lysle Blvd bridge over the Youghiogheny River.

* There is a parking garage on 6th Street and parking lots at the intersection of 5th and Water Street. Overnight parking is permitted in the 6th Street garage.  It is lighted, and patrolled but there is NO security.  You must get a permit to display on your dashboard, the rate is $4.50.  Office hours are M-F 9-4 and they're located 500 5th Avenue in City Hall, McKeesport.  Phone: 412-675-5020 x624

Pittsburgh, PA
Access point
1. The trail begins behind the PNC Firstside Center at Grant Street.
2. Cross First Avenue and onto PNC's sidewalk. The trail is behind the building.
3. Users will pass behind the First Avenue Garage and Station on a dedicated
    right-of-way and then continue on the trail.
4. The trail is easily accessible from the Light Rail Transit (LRT) by getting
    off at the First Avenue stop.

Parking:
1. Parking is available at the First Avenue Garage and Station located at the
    corner of First Avenue and Municipal Courts Way.
2. There is also a free parking lot for trail users at the Oakland end of the trail.
    To access, travel on Second Avenue past the Pittsburgh Technology Center. Make the first LEFT after the Hot Metal Bridge at Swinburne Street. There is no stoplight at this turn; however, there is a trailhead parking sign. The parking lot is the first sharp RIGHT.
Directions to Montour Trail Trailheads from South to North
TrailheadDirections
Clairton, PA 1. From Clairton, take Rt 837 S.
2. The trailhead is about 0.4 mile south of the Clairton-Glassport bridge, at the
    north edge of the Clairton Municipal Authority Water Pollution Control plant.
Jefferson Hills, PA 1. Take Rt 51 S to Ridge Road exit.
2. Turn LEFT on Ridge Road then RIGHT on Gill Hall.
3. Trailhead and parking are 1/2 mile on left at bottom of hill.
South Park Township, PA

From Rt 88 S:
1. After passing under the Montour Railroad Trestle, turn LEFT onto Brownsville and Library Road.

2. When reaching the stop sign, go across the intersection and continue on Piney Fork Road.
3. Turn RIGHT into a trailhead at the wastewater treatment plant sign or continue onward as follows.
4. Bear RIGHT at the fork in the road to stay on Piney Fork Road.

5. Turn RIGHT on Triphammer Road.

6. Take the first RIGHT into the trailhead.

Bethel Park, PA 1. Route 88 S, to RIGHT on Logan Road.
2. At Irishtown Road, turn LEFT.
3. Trailhead and parking are on the right.
Peters Township, PA 1. Take US Rt 19 S to Valley Brook Road, and turn LEFT.
2. About 1/3 mile east on Valley Brook, turn RIGHT into trailhead parking area.
Hendersonville, PA

1. Take I-79 S to the Southpointe/Hendersonville exit.

2. At the bottom of the exit ramp, turn east towards Hendersonville and go 0.5 miles to a stop sign.

3. Turn LEFT at the stop sign onto Morganza Road, and then go 0.5 miles downhill to the intersection with Oriole Drive. One trail access/parking area can be found 200 yards up Oriole Drive on the right. The second access/parking area is across the road directly behind the deli building(with the flag pole in front).

Cecil Park, PA 1. Take I-79 to Rt 50 W at Bridgeville.
2. Continue about three miles west of the end of the four-lane portion of Rt 50.
    Cecil Township Park is on the left.
3. Park in western lot (near municipal building) and follow signs across creek,
past tennis courts and up access trail.
McDonald, PA 1. Take US Rt 22 W to Rt 980, then south 5 miles to McDonald.
2. At Noblestown Road turn RIGHT.
3. Or take I-79 S to Noblestown Road in Carnegie, then 9 miles west
    through McDonald.
4. Trailhead and parking are west of town, just before the large railroad trestle.
    Parking is on left (south side of road). Trail entrance is on right (N side of road).
The Panhandle
Trail, PA
1. Take I-79 S to Noblestown Road in Carnegie, then 1.7 miles west to Walker's Mill.
2. Turn LEFT on Walker's Mill Road, then 0.1 mile to parking lot on the right.
3. Additional parking is available at the following locations: Sunnyside Avenue
    in Rennerdale, Collier Township, Gregg Station Road at Gregg Station, Collier Township, Avenue (SR 980) in Oakdale Borough, Mill Street in Noblestown, South Fayette Township, Station Street in Sturgeon, South. Fayette Township, Laurel Hill Road in McDonald Borough.
Quicksilver, PA 1. Take US Rt 22 W to Rt 980.
2. Go on Rt 980 S for 2.8 miles (or from Noblestown Road, north 3.4 miles) to
    Quicksilver Golf Course.
3. Parking is on south side of Rt 980.
Boggs, PA 1. Take US Rt 22 W to Rt 980 exit.
2. Turn LEFT (north) onto Potato Garden Road.
3. After about 0.5 miles, turn RIGHT onto Boggs Road.
4. Trailhead and parking are 100 yards on the right.
Enlow, PA 1. Take Rt 60 W, passing the Montour Run and Business Rt 60 exits to
    McClaren Road exit.
2. Follow McClaren Road S about one mile to trail parking on the left at the ball field (before the 5-way intersection).
Cliff Mine Road, PA 1. Take Rt 60 (Parkway West) to Montour Run exit.
2. Turn RIGHT (south) under Parkway overpass.
3. At traffic light, turn LEFT passing the Airport Mariott hotel on your right.
4. Proceed about one mile to trail parking on left.
Montour Run Road, PA 1. Take Rt 60 (Parkway West) to Montour Run exit.
2. Turn LEFT (north, toward Wickes Furniture).
3. The Trail is close to the road for the next mile, with several access points,
    including the entrance drive to Wickes and at Park Manor Drive.
    Park along the road.
Coraopolis, PA 1. The northernmost point on the Montour Trail is located in Groveton, just east
    of Coraopolis. Take the Coraopolis exit from I-79 N, and go west on Rt 51 about 0.3 mile.
2. Immediately after crossing a bridge, make a very hard RIGHT turn.
3. The road turns under the bridge to the trailhead.

OR

1. Traveling on I-79 S, there is no Coraopolis exit, so take the Neville Island exit.
2. At the end of the off ramp turn LEFT onto Island Avenue W.
3. Continue on Island Avenue across a bridge into Coraopolis, where you will be
    forced to turn RIGHT
4. Take the next two LEFTS to Rt 51 S.
5. Travel 3/4 of a mile and turn LEFT where you see a sign for the Montour Trail.
6. The road turns under the bridge to the trailhead. There is parking for 10-15 cars.
