The Great GAP Ride

AUGUST 31 to SEPTEMBER 3 - BENEFITTING the GREAT ALLEGHENY PASSAGE

Do not miss this unique opportunity to experience the Great Allegheny Passage (GAP). The Gap is being called the premier rail-trail in the United States. This trip is being planned with first rate accommodations and dining. In addition to all of the natural wonders along the trail there will be programs scheduled in the towns along the way. Learn some of the history and secrets of the trail towns along the GAP. In Cumberland alone you will have the opportunity to explore the tunnels that lead to the last top on the underground railroad and the C&O canal boat and museum to name just a few historic sites You'll have the opportunity to ride up the 15 miles on the GAP to Frostburg or ride Western Maryland's Mountain Thunder Steam Engine. Each town along the way is planning a welcoming activity for the group. The trip provides all accommodations, dining and transport of your gear. Transportation for riders and their gear will be provided from Pittsburgh to the starting point in Cumberland Md. This trip also gives you a chance to support the Great Allegheny Passage and the trail groups along the GAP. This all inclusive trip costs $1,500 and proceeds go to help fund the GAP and the trail organizations along the way.
